What is an “AV Preeminent” Rating?

“AV” is a registered certification mark of Reed Elsevier Properties Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedure standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell is the facilitator of a peer review process that rates lawyers. Ratings reflect the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary. MARTINDALE-HUBBELL(SM) ratings fall into two categories – legal ability and general ethical standards. The “A” legal ability rating means “very high to preeminent”, and the “V” ethical standard rating means “very high”.

AV Preeminent® (4.5-5.0) – AV Preeminent is a significant rating accomplishment a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence.
